What can I say the 2019 Daiwa Certate 2500LT paired with a TD SOL 862ULXS is a magic setup.
While trialling this setup recently I was most impressed with the accuracy of the rod at long and short distances and the extra rod length makes line control an absolute dream.
The best fish I have landed on this setup is a fantastic back country trophy brown trout, I was super excited. The reel performed flawlessly throughout the fight as the fish took off around the pool making run after run. The one thing I really like about the reel is that you can run a much higher drag setting because of the smoothness of the drag system which in turn makes the fights shorter and the fish are able to be released in a much better condition.
I look forward to putting this gear in clients hands this season on the South Island canals with Boothy’s Fishing School I am sure they will be suitably impressed. As the saying goes “The best always costs less”.
